Pleasance Unveils Record-Breaking Comedy Lineup for 2025

The Pleasance Theatre Trust is set to kick off 2025 with a landmark comedy season, presenting over 70 exciting work-in-progress performances at their Islington venue. Featuring fresh material from renowned comedians such as Dara Ó Briain, Sindhu Vee, and Chloe Petts, the spring season promises an unmissable lineup for comedy fans. This marks the eleventh year of Pleasance’s annual work-in-progress season, with more acts than ever before.

Pleasance Unveils Record-Breaking Comedy Lineup for 2025

Headliners and Special Shows

  • Dara Ó Briain kicks off the season with warm-up shows for his global tour Re:Creation on 16th January. The Guardian calls his stand-up a “masterclass in intelligent, no-frills comedy.”
  • Sindhu Vee returns on 8th February with new material on family life following her US tour.
  • Glenn Moore, Perrier Award nominee, debuts never-before-seen material on 20th February.

Rising Stars

  • Chloe Petts brings her hilariously personal routines about relationships, sex, and more on 25th and 26th February.
  • Jazz Emu, The Guardian’s “breakout comedy act of 2023,” presents Perfect Work from 24th–26th April.
  • Josh Berry, TikTok sensation, tackles masculinity and societal expectations on 29th–30th January.

More Highlights

  • Pierre Novellie presents his solo show on 12th February after supporting Frank Skinner in the West End.
  • Alison Spittle, known for Soup and New Stuff, performs Fat Bitch on 6th March, exploring gender and stereotypes.
  • Nabil Abdulrashid, award-winning comedian from 8 Out of 10 Cats, takes on racial discourse on 31st January.

Newcomers and Unique Voices

  • Joe Kent-Walters, 2024 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner, presents his character comedy on 22nd February.
  • Alana Jackson, winner of So You Think You’re Funny? 2024, shares her take on cultural differences on 3rd April.
  • Rohan Sharma, Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2024, brings a surreal multimedia debut on 21st March.

Fresh Talent

  • Jin Hao Li (11th February), Lorna Rose Treen (30th January & 3rd April), and Rosalie Minnitt (8th February) all return with new material.
  • Andrew Doherty presents his horror-comedy Woman Lawyer on 8th March.
  • Lindsey Santoro, fresh from Pink Tinge, returns with new work on 29th March.
  • Katie Norris debuts new material on 16th April following the success of Farm Fatale.

Up-and-Coming Acts

  • Expect new acts from Sharon Wanjohi (27th March), Shalaka Kurup (4th April), Kyrah Gray (13th February), Sam Williams (14th February), and Dom McGovern (5th March).
